Hello...hope you get lots of rest and have lots of fun on your summer holidays. Going on a trip with children is definitely not easy but it is manageable and with proper planning can be enjoyable too. The basic survival tips I can give for a 4 and 6-year-old is first to keep them occupied. They need lots to do. You didn't state whether it would be outdoor or indoors, most importantly keep them occupied. Make sure you have a schedule for them each day. You could bring some toys, puzzles and the sorts along with you. I would also advise you have a small medical kit, with the essential painkillers, bandages and insect repellant. This will definitely come in handy for active children. Don't forget to include your own schedule too, you need to have fun too. There are lots of joint activities you can engage in with your children too. Try to engage them daily so by evening they are tired and they retire to bed early. This gives you a lot of time for yourself too. I hope this post helps a little. I also wish you an eventful holiday. Have fun.
