Untreated sexually transmitted diseases can cause pelvic inflammatory disease. This is a serious condition in women. Women with a history of pelvic inflammatory disease can experience difficulties getting pregnant. Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of a woman’s reproductive organs. It is a complication often caused by some sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia and gonorrhea. Other infections that are not sexually transmitted can also cause pelvic inflammatory disease. A diagnosis is usually based on a combination of your medical history, physical exam, and other test results. You may not realize you have PID because your symptoms may be mild, or you may not experience any symptoms.

You may notice pain in your lower abdomen, fever, an unusual discharge with a bad odor from your vagina, pain and bleeding when you have sex, burning sensation when you urinate or bleeding between periods. See your doctor if you notice any of these symptoms. If is diagnosed early, it can be treated. However, treatment won’t undo any damage that has already happened to your reproductive system. The longer you wait to get treated, the more likely it is that you will have complications from PID. While taking antibiotics, your symptoms may go away before the infection is cured. Even if symptoms go away, you should finish taking all of your medicine. If someone have had PID before, it's a higher chance of getting it again.

Hi there. Pelvic Inflammatory disease is like a side effect of any infection on a reproductive organ. It does not neccessarily mean it is an STD. It could also be something else. However, I wouldn't rule out STDs either. It's a good idea to get it checked out. I hope its nothing serious.

PID is a term used to refer to the infection or inflammation of organs and tissues in the pelvis. To help prevent the transmission of bacteria that can cause PID, women should protect themselves against STIs.While early treatment reduces the risk of long-term complications..

Pelvic inflammatory disease or PID, is an infection of a woman's reproductive organs. Treating PID right away is important, because PID can cause scar tissue in the pelvic organs and lead to infertility. It can also cause other problems, such as pelvic pain and tubal (ectopic) pregnancy.

Hi dear. I think yes it can cause infertility. It is very serious among women. It is the infection of reproductive organs. It is caused by untreated sexually transmitted diseases. There will be a lot of pain in this. The pain will be in the lower abdomen part. It is important to treat it immediately.

Hi there. I am so sorry to read about your post. The fact is; out of 750,000 women in USA, 10-15% faced fertility issues because PID. What is PID as you asked before? PID is a disease of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and other reproductive organs. The infection can source indicators like lower abdominal pain, fever, vaginal release, excruciating intercourse or urination. On the other hand, many of these warning signs are indistinguishable and can be contributed to other causes, PID often goes undiagnosed. PID can source lasting damage to the female reproductive organs and scarring in the fallopian tubes. Scarring in the fallopian tubes can hinder with the egg traveling to the uterus. This can product in the sperm not being able to contact the egg or the egg fertilizing in the tube causing an ectopic pregnancy. As a result of the damage and complications, the risk of infertility continues to increase.

Hi there! I hope you are doing well. So pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of the reproductive organs in a woman. There are different types of bacteria that can cause PID, it's the same bacteria that cause STIs and chlamydia. Yes, it can make you infertile. Tell the doctor to do a pelvic exam to check your organs and also urine test for further details. Good luck!

Hey! Yes, it can be a cause for infertility. It's the same disease that causes chlamydia. You should visit a doctor asap. Get yourself tested. Everything will be fine just keep calm and don't give up.

Have to agree with the previous commenter. You should not ignore any discomfort coming from any part of your body. people do get infertile after untreated PID. So you should be really careful. I have not listened to my dr and submitted my body to endure more than 1 m/c. It was painful physically and emotionally. This is why we are now in the middle of the surrogacy program. If anything, I suppose any agency or clinic will advise you to do a bunch of check ups. This is what WCOB has told my husband to do. You should not risk your potential pregnancy and family just because you feel ok. Sorry if I am assuming too much

It can be the cause. However, I am not too sure about it. I would advise you to visit the doctor and ask him/her about it. It is an issue that shouldn't be neglected. However, I hope there is nothing too serious. Good luck to you. If you need any help do let me know. I will be more than happy to help.
